How did you hear about the SCRC and when did you join?

Found the SCRC on the internet in fall off 2000.

How long have you been riding?

Learned on dirt bikes as a teenager, then stopped until 2000.

Have you ever taken a motorcycle safety course?

Not yet.

What was your first bike?

Yamaha 100 Enduro.

How many bikes have you owned?

 4,1973 Yamaha 100 Enduro, 1973 Yamaha 125 Enduro, 2000 Honda Sabre, and 1999 Honda Valk I/S.

Why do you ride?

It’s the happiest place to be, free of all the “stuff” I deal with every day, it is the source of what makes me smile.

Have you ridden with an organized group before?

No.

What modifications have you done to your bike?

Cut the “piggies” and drilled out the first baffle.

What accessories do you want to add to your bike?

t this time it pretty much what I want...but subject to change.

What is your dream bike?

My Valk, she’s just everything I want in a bike.

What kind of riding do you like to do – straight-aways or twisties?

A good mix, but if I have to choose then the twisties  hands down.

If you have a nickname, how did you get it?  Tell the truth!

Well believe it or not, it came from a discussion around a pool table with former first officer Willi and Hack. The Valkyrie is nicknamed the Dragon and since I’m usually up early or out late “DRAGGN” my but off to work or “Draggn” something to drop off for a customer, my nickname was chosen.

What is your favorite riding route?

That’s a difficult one, there are so many great roads around here to see.. I don’t think I have a favorite one yet.

Do you ride your bike to work?

Occasionally---not near enough though.

What is the fastest you’ve ridden?

125 mph.

What is your favorite time of year to ride?

Fall, the colors, the lower temps, less bugs.

Have you ever been down?  If so, how were you hurt and what did you learn from the incident?

Not yet down, though I have had several stupid drops.

Have you ever done an “Iron Butt” ride?

Not yet, butt willing to.

If not, what is the furthest you’ve ridden?

Fall of 2001 I rode to St Louis , MO and back, what a trip.

What was the worst weather in which you’ve ridden?

Pouring rain, several times.

Do you know how to work on your bike?

Some minor, but always willing to try.

What is your favorite road song?

Don’t really have a favorite.

What was your most adventurous ride?

I’d say the trip solo to St Louis, I had never driven let alone rode that far solo.

What rallies or events do you like to attend?

Due to work ethics I haven’t taken the opportunity to enjoy many rallies, but I hope to change that.

Is there someone who rides “two-up” with you?

Occasionally my wife Debbie.

Off the cuff from Dragg'n…

"First of all thanks for asking me to be a Featured member, It’d difficult for me to express how much this group of people mean to me, I have been a member here for a long time and even though there are many new member I haven’t been able to meet or ride with, it has and will continue to be both a privilege and an honor to be associated with this chapter. Now let’s meet at Roy ’s and go for a ride!"
